During the 2017 General Assembly a study and report on Physician Assisted Suicide was shared for churches to review and respond. To support our response, a series of three Wednesday evenings will be held January 10, 17 and 24, from 6–8 p.m. A light supper will be served.
On Jan. 10, Sharon Baxter, Executive Director of the Canadian Hospice Palliative Care Association will join us to provide information on hospice and palliative care especially, the current Canadian situation and what would be a quality palliative care outcome.
On Jan. 17, Colleen G., an elder at St. Andrew’s, who has both a clinical and policy background in nursing and has studied the Canadian Medical Assistance in Dying legislation, will provide a 101 on the legislation and policy considerations.
The final evening, on Jan. 24, will be facilitated by Rev. Karen Dimock and Huda Kandalaft, providing an opportunity for conversation, and biblical and theological reflection.
If interested in attending, please contact Colleen G. or use the sign-up sheet in Fergus Grant Hall.
