As April begins our Lenten Journey is almost over. With the disciples we have been with Jesus as he travels from Galilee to Jerusalem. As we go we have heard Jesus repeat the call to follow him. The same invitation that first drew the disciples from their homes and livelihoods three years before is deepening now. The closer Jesus gets to Jerusalem, the more the ways of God’s Kingdom are juxtaposed against the ways of the world. Jesus has been talking about his coming death and resurrection. In April we will witness it as our readings take us from Jesus’ final teaching to his death and resurrection. Then at the end of the month as we meet the now resurrected Jesus on a beach in Galilee once more we will hear his invitation again: Follow me!
