Care and Connection Coordinator
We are currently looking for a Care and Connection Coordinator to join the leadership team at St. Andrew’s. They will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of various care and connection activities.
The Care and Connection Coordinator will grow and strengthen the connections between homebound persons, new members and visitors to St. Andrew’s. They will provide training and resources to volunteers from the congregation so that they may connect with each other and with visitors.

Responsibilities
The Care and Connection Coordinator will:
Support the vision, mission and values of St. Andrew’s Ottawa and the Presbyterian Church in Canada
Equip and support the Care and Connection Committee
Oversee and encourage pastoral care and connections under the direction of the Minister
Ensure care and connection of individuals who engage with St. Andrew’s
Provide ongoing support of small group ministry at St. Andrew’s
Engage people on sensitive and spirituality issues
Seek, welcome and support new persons to St. Andrew’s
Qualifications
The Ministry of Pastoral Care at St. Andrew’s involves a focus on Connection, Care and Belonging and is important to the congregation as a whole. It is not only for those who are home-bound, elderly and crisis-stricken, although that is an important part of the ministry. The care needs for younger people in the congregation, as well as those in the wider community, also matter.
The successful candidate will:
Be a mature, committed Christian
Be passionate about the ministry of care and connection
Have the ability to lead, recruit, train, motivate and support volunteers
Be trustworthy and maintain confidences
Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
Have computer proficiency skills
The successful candidate will possess:
A combination of education, experience and training in the area of divinity, social work, pastoral care and volunteer management
Relevant experience in a church, hospital, or ministry setting
Gifts of teaching and/or administration—considered an asset
French communication skills (verbal, written)—considered an asset
Position Details
Part-time position 15-20 hours per week
$25 -$28 per hour, commensurate with skills and experience
Location: hybrid, church office (82 Kent Street) with possibility of remote work
Conditions of Employment
The successful candidate must provide a recent Police Check, Covenant of Care and the Mandatory Pastoral Care course (within past five years).
The successful candidate must successfully participate in the Covenant of Care training and other safety and security training.
