MUSIC AS SANCTUARY

Upcoming Performances

TUESDAY October 14th - 12:10PM

October 14th features Ottawa's Concert Docs in our Sanctuary space. Concert Docs is a volunteer organization founded by Carol Wiebe (piano) and Fraser Rubens (tenor) who have been providing musical respite for the elderly and infirmed who cannot make it to the NAC. Fraser and Carole will be presenting a concert of chansons of Gabriel Faure and Henri Duparc at our noon-hour sanctuary followed by two favourites of Richard Strauss. It is their pleasure to share these monumental pieces with our community to honour these great composers.

St. Andrew’s is pleased to offer a weekly concert series, each Tuesday from 12:10 to 1:00PM, in the sanctuary. Guest artists appear as solo performers or in small ensembles, and are drawn from across the national capital region and beyond. A wide range of musical genres are offered, and several of the concerts feature the church’s magnificent organ. Concerts are free to the public, and donations are welcome. A made-from-scratch soup lunch is served after each performance, and all are welcome.
