Lunch & Learn: Understanding Syria, Refugees, and Canada’s Role.

Sunday, January 18 after service. Martin Fischer, Head of Policy and Government Relations at World Vision Canada, will be joining us for a Lunch & Learn in support of St Andrew’s refugee sponsorship of a Syrian family. Martin works closely with governments, churches, and international partners on humanitarian crises, with a particular focus on children and families affected by conflict.
Martin will share an accessible overview of the situation in Syria, the current realities facing Syrian refugees in neighbouring countries, and how Canada’s private sponsorship of refugees by churches fits into the wider global response. The talk will help place St. Andrew’s sponsorship journey in a broader context, highlighting why this work matters and the tangible difference local faith communities can make.
