SUNDAY WORSHIP SERVICE
ALL SAINTS' SUNDAY
TIM WRIGHT, GUEST PREACHER
✝️ On All Saints’ Sunday, Tim Wright reflects on the moving encounter between Mary and Jesus at the tomb of Lazarus in John 11. Together with the voice of lament found in Lamentations 3, we consider the questions that arise in times of grief, loss, and uncertainty, and the hope that remains in God's presence. As we remember the saints who have gone before us, celebrate a Grade 4 Bible presentation, and join in worship through word and music, we are invited to trust God's faithfulness even in life's most difficult moments.
🕊️ Be Part of Our Worship Community: Experience the peace and joy of coming together in God's presence. Whether you're seeking spiritual nourishment, a sense of community, or simply a moment of tranquility, our service welcomes all.
⛪ At St. Andrew's Church, we deepen our relationship with God, each other and the world, through Jesus Christ, by building connections, growing in faith, and serving others.
SCRIPTURE READINGS
Lamentations 3:1-6
GREAT IS YOUR FAITHFULNESS
1 I am the man who has seen affliction
by the rod of the Lord’s wrath.
2 He has driven me away and made me walk
in darkness rather than light;
3 indeed, he has turned his hand against me
again and again, all day long.
4 He has made my skin and my flesh grow old
and has broken my bones.
5 He has besieged me and surrounded me
with bitterness and hardship.
6 He has made me dwell in darkness
like those long dead.
John 11:30-35
JESUS WEAPS FOR LAZARUS
30 Now Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was still at the place where Martha had met him. 31 When the Jews who had been with Mary in the house, comforting her, noticed how quickly she got up and went out, they followed her, supposing she was going to the tomb to mourn there.
32 When Mary reached the place where Jesus was and saw him, she fell at his feet and said, “Lord, if you had been here, my brother would not have died.”
33 When Jesus saw her weeping, and the Jews who had come along with her also weeping, he was deeply moved in spirit and troubled. 34 “Where have you laid him?” he asked.
“Come and see, Lord,” they replied.
35 Jesus wept.
